Lighting Presets (click to set and re-render) Set natural lighing - SketchUp Sun and Sky
Contents
Studio High Dynamic
The source of lighting is set to emulate a studio setting. This preset is ideal for SketchUp components rendered in isolation, and renderings are similar to images produced in a photographer's studio.
Exterior With Sun
The primary light source for the model is the SketchUp Sun. Lighting is also provided by the SketchUp Sky.
Intersection, by Stephen GabbottInterior With Sun
Most useful for renderings of interiors with openings that permit sunlight to enter the space.
Ivy Lobby by Ivo YordanovInterior No Sun
For interior renderings without natural lighting.
Interior by Albert ChengHDRi sky + Background
Lighting is provided by a High Dynamic Range image which is also used as the image background. This preset option provides very natural lighting with shadows.
SketchUp on/off Even after having selected a Lighting Preset option for the rendering, it is possible to include or exclude the
- SketchUp Sun
- Sky (Colors, Automatic, or HDRi)
- Ground
Additionally, the Synchronize changes with SketchUp option enables all changes made during rendering to update the SketchUp model.
Sky Mode The sky is a natural light source. Set the sky option for the rendering.
The sky can illuminate the model and will be included in reflective surfaces, even when the sky itself is turned off.
Ambient Light
Ambient Light is the overall brightness of the image, solved during rendering. A lower ambient value will produce more contrast in the rendered image, higher ambient values will flatten the rendering. See Also: Ambient Light
Light balance
A value less than 50 makes the Sky light source dominant, greater than 50 makes artificial light sources dominant.
Other Settings
Enable Artificial LIghting
Enable or Disable artificial lighting
Use Daylight Portals
Enable or Disable daylight portals
Use Indirect Lighting (reflected light)
Set method to solve bounced light in the rendering.
