You can easily select any SketchUp Material, or Library Material to use as a ground plane texturs when rendering.

Load the Sky Settings Tab

Pick a Ground Plane Material

Model rendered with grass ground plane

Model rendered with a sand ground plane

Water effects as ground plane

For this example we added a "bump" water material as the ground plane.
